Lexi's Story
While Lexi was outdoors for years and again during our most recent cold snap, we plan for her days being out in the cold suffering end. She's been cold and hungry far too long. While this beautiful girl had a thick coat to keep her warm, living outdoors, caring for livestock and surviving most often without shelter, healthcare or decent food, this girl has clearly lived a rough life. She's had enough of the hard life and it's time to be pampered.

Lexi's beautiful spirit shown through even as she was covered in flea dirt; but, once bathed and groomed, Cinderella became the beautiful princess she always was underneath her thick coat. Pulled from a local shelter one day before her scheduled euthanasia, we were thrilled to have her. Sadly we did not learn of her sister who was euthanized the next day.

Lexi has been staying with an amazing foster, where she has enjoyed sleeping on a cozy bed, playing with her foster sister, and roaming free in a fenced yard.

Gentle Lexi carefully gives you her hand and can sit. This petite little 50 lbs girl needs to gain a little weight as her hip bones are protruding even through her thick coat. She eats every morsel of food and is always ready for more. Lexi is amazingly pretty good on leash and is house trained. She's another well balanced girl with a low to medium energy and one who will easily find a home. She gets along with cats, dogs, does well with children and is crate trained.

She comes with our standard medical package which includes her spay, microchip, rabies, parvo-distemper and bordetella. She has tested negative for heartworm, been de-wormed and is on flea and tick as well as heartworm prevention. We will look hard for a family who can allow her to have peace, who has a fenced in yard and who preferably has another companion dog (although this isn't a must).

If you believe your environment and family are a match for Lexi and you are interested in meeting her, please submit an application
