Lexi's Story

Lexi was adopted when she was 2 years old, lived in a home for 5 years, then suddenly found herself facing many changes.

Her adopter could no longer keep her and her mom, due to no fault of their own. Unfortunately, her mom was very ill and crossed the rainbow bridge, leaving Lexi without her for the first time in 7 years. To our surprise, she handled all of the changes well, and is still the bounciest, happiest girl, so full of life.

She is a podenco, and came all the way from Spain. She is 39 pounds, but very overweight, and her foster family is helping her on her weight loss journey. We'd like to see her lose at least 10 pounds. She gets along with other dogs and cats (who are dog savvy). She is spunky, playful, and cuddly. She's always been leash walked, but in a foster home with a fenced yard and enjoying it. She is in Orlando, Florida, but transportation can be arranged to the right home. She is the sweetest, silliest dog and someone will be so lucky to give her the best "second chapter."
