Lexi's Story
Some of you may remember Gabby (now Lexi) from our 2026 G Litter. Lexi’s human dad has an upcoming surgery that will make it difficult for him to provide the time, energy, and attention this young girl needs. Her family has made the difficult decision to return her so we can find her the right home.

Lexi is a 5-month old Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix weighing 43 pounds.

House-trained and crate-trained
Loves people (best with kids 10+)
Great with other dogs
No cats - a bit too curious and rambunctious
Needs some leash work
Dislikes mani/pedis
Not a fan of car rides - unless she gets a window seat!

Lexi is friendly, affectionate, playful, curious, and energetic. She knows sit, down, off, leave it, and wait — clearly a an intelligent girl who is eager to learn. Lexi enjoys doing tricks for treats, playing treat hide and seek, and working with her flirt pole.

NOT an apartment dog
Requires a secure physical fenced yard
Plenty of daily physical exercise is a MUST
Requires significant mental stimulation DAILY
Thrives when given a job to do
Experience with working breeds is strongly preferred
NOT a first-time dog-owner pup
Training is NOT optional — it is essential

Belgian Malinois and German Shepherds are highly intelligent, working breeds that thrive when given structure, purpose, and consistent leadership. A bored Malinois will often create its own job, and that usually isn’t one you’ll appreciate!

Please research the Belgian Malinois breed prior to submitting an application. These dogs can be incredible companions in the right home, but require a serious commitment of time, training, enrichment, and exercise.

If you have experience with working breeds and are ready for the commitment Lexi requires, we’d love to hear from you!

To adopt https://thepuppyrescue.com/pet-adoption/

If you can foster Lexi as she awaits her perfect family https://thepuppyrescue.com/foster-application (if you are already an approved foster, please message us).

#SecondChance #adoptable #malinois #gsdpuppy
