Levi's Story
Levi is an overly shy but sweet, quiet, timid, and reserved Boston boy. He has an overall scared and anxious personality, especially around new/loud sounds and sudden movements. Each day he is making strides in the right direction and is learning to trust. This mellow boy is learning that exploring his surroundings is FUN and running the perimeter of the fenced-in yard with his furry pals is pure joy.
His favorite pastimes include taking many naps throughout the day, flipping to scratch his back on the ground, finding his way onto the couch to catch up on his favorite TV series, jumping on the big bed to be near his foster family, and most recently discovering toys and bones. Levi has mostly an independent side where he can relax in his favorite spot and watch the neighborhood happenings from afar. He does find comfort in some peace and quiet and will often head to his safe place and do his own thing. Levi likes to hang out in his comfy bed and relax the day away! He takes a passive and cautious approach to life as he is still building his confidence in finding his way into pet life.
Levi currently lives with 3 furry foster siblings and really enjoys their company. On occasion, he will romp around the house with them, run to the door to go outside, and enjoy a treat when everyone finishes their dinner. Levi is quite apprehensive and nervous, requiring an ample amount of time to warm up. He recently attended a SNAFU Rescue meet and greet event and he did wonderfully in a chaotic environment but did stay close to his trusted humans.
Levi is quite the snuggle bug (especially at bedtime) seeking attention and cuddles from his foster family who will always offer him a warm lap to jump into. Levi has such a mild and sweet disposition and everyone that meets him just cannot help but fall head over paws for him! Levi is still learning the ways of pet life and will need a family who is willing to spend time with him, provide the space he requires, offer him patience and introduce him slowly to new things to help build his confidence as he grows into pet life. He is making improvements daily and his foster family could not be more proud of him! Levi would most certainly do well in a house with a passive fur buddy and equally as well as an only dog. His sweet but nervous personality would fit best with calm, gentle, dog-savvy children over the age of 12. As with all of our dogs, slow introductions to other dogs and children in the household is a must and he should always be supervised to make sure he and they are kept safe.

Levi is 100% potty trained. His foster family reports NO accidents in over a month. His adoptive family will need to be willing and able to keep him on a regular and consistent schedule for his continued potty training success. Levi is very responsive when it is time to go “outside” and willingly does all of his business especially if his furry foster friends are with him as he looks to them for cues. His foster family reports he is crate trained even though he was scared of the crate at first. Levi is offered a small dog-safe room and he often seeks out his space when he needs to decompress. He will sleep in his crate however, we KNOW Levi would rather continue to share a bed with his adoptive family for unlimited bedtime snuggles. For his safety, a similar dog-safe space arrangement is suggested when his humans are away from the home and/or when he is left unsupervised so he is safe and secure.

Medically, Levi is in great health! He has been neutered, had a dental, updated on vaccinations/dewormings, heartworm tested, microchipped and has been given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian! Levi does take a daily anti-anxiety medication and it really has helped him overcome some of the fear he has.
