Mama loves to sniff her and investigate, but Lilac clearly knows she’s a friendly and will occasionally just bop her on the nose when Mama gets too curious.

Honestly, Mama is just too easy, too sweet, and too well-behaved.

Which is very unfair because all of her puppies have already been adopted, and now she’s sitting here acting like a perfect house dog waiting for someone to notice.

So again … do NOT adopt this dog.

Unless you want a gentle, easygoing, sweet companion who loves everyone and everything.

(Also yes… you are absolutely allowed to rename her. “Mama” was a temporary situation.)

Our standard adoption fee is $465. We offer a $15 discount for adopters who pay by cash or check, making the adoption fee $450.

The adoption fee includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at one of our participating veterinarians, age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal test, deworming, current on flea and tick preventative, and microchip.

To ensure the best match for both our dogs and adopters, we require a fully completed adoption application, a phone interview, and a meet-and-greet with the entire household. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed.

Submitting an application does not guarantee adoption and does not obligate you to adopt; it simply allows us to begin the review process.

To request an application or for additional details, please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org

Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.

Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to approve or decline any adoption application based on the best interest of the dog.

DO NOT ADOPT THIS DOG

Seriously. Do not do it.

This is Mama (name very negotiable), and she is absolutely not the kind of dog anyone would want.

First of all, she’s fully potty trained, which is honestly suspicious. Not a single accident. What kind of dog behaves like that?

She also doesn’t need a crate, which means she just casually wanders around the house acting trustworthy like she owns the place.

When everyone leaves the house? Instead of redecorating or eating the couch, she just goes to sleep. Very disappointing.

Mama also has the audacity to:
• Love playing nicely with my dogs
• Be the perfect size - 40 lbs. Not a small dog but also not a giant.
• Be great with my son and his friends
• Be gentle and calm instead of bouncing off the walls like a maniac

At night she’ll either sleep quietly on the floor in my room or occasionally on the bed … until she gets annoyed with my feet and relocates somewhere less inconvenient.
