Lettie's Story

Meet Lettie

Hi there everyone! my name is Lettie, aka Mama. Back in November, I hitched a last minute ride from Texas after my owner went into hospice care.

When I arrived here in Illinois, I gave my foster mom such a surprise, I was pregnant! Fast forward 9 weeks, my babies are all happy, healthy, beautiful, and quickly being adopted into their forever homes! Now it’s my turn!

I am a young and smart dog. Im potty trained, smart as a whip, comfortable with other dogs, or just fine entertaining myself! Im playful and dedicated to my humans. I love to play with my foster dogs, school age kids, and the resident cats! My foster thinks I may be a lab husky mix, 1 to 3 years old, and I currently weigh 40 pounds.

I sleep through the night on a comfy blanket on the floor, and during the day I have free roam of the house, as long as there are enough toys and bones to keep me busy. IF I have to go in a crate, I will, but I’ll whine about it!

I would love a yard to play in, and hang out in because I like being outside too! I'm ready for the next part of my journey... will you be my forever family?

Our standard adoption fee is $465. We offer a $15 discount for adopters who pay by cash or check, making the adoption fee $450.

The adoption fee includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at one of our participating veterinarians, age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal test, deworming, current on flea and tick preventative, and microchip.

To ensure the best match for both our dogs and adopters, we require a fully completed adoption application, a phone interview, and a meet-and-greet with the entire household. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed.

Submitting an application does not guarantee adoption and does not obligate you to adopt; it simply allows us to begin the review process.

To request an application or for additional details, please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org

Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.

Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to approve or decline any adoption application based on the best interest of the dog.
