Leonelli - Houston - Ready for Adoption's Story
I love all sorts of toys, especially the ones with squeakers and stuffing! I don’t really understand personal space, but my foster mom says we’re working on it. I just can’t help myself—I love all kinds of attention from my humans. New people and new places make me a little timid, but I warm up really quickly. Gentleness and kindness go a long way, as do treats from new folks.

I get along well with other dogs, although sometimes I’ll test my limits. I would do very well in a home with structure and a schedule that includes walks and plenty of playtime. Every morning, my energy tank is replenished, and I love playing with my foster sister and mom. Mom says my nickname is Willy because, she says, I’m a Silly Willy Nilly Leonelli.

I’m not picky about my food, and if you have snacks or treats, I’d love you forever if you shared them with me. My foster mom lets me sleep in my own bed in a crate most nights, and every once in a while, she lets me sleep in bed with her. That’s definitely my favorite.

If you adopt me, I promise you’ll never be lonely, and I’ll always be right by your side.

My optimal Adoptive Home:
High Energy/Activity
Has a Canine Companion
Has an Italian Greyhound Companion
Has no other dogs except me
Has someone that is home mostly during the day
Has someone that can come home at lunch and let
me out to potty
Is okay with a dog in their lap quite frequently
Is familiar with fearful behavior and/or has
experience with dogs that have been
abused/neglected in their past
Has time and patience to dedicate to continuing my
social rehabilitation
Has prior experience with raising an IG puppy
Has prior experience with a high energy IG
Must have a securely fenced in yard (not an
available dog park area)

Apartment Homes - maybe:
These are the requirements that must be met for this IG to be
considered for an apartment home:
Regular walks, plenty of toys, treat puzzles would all
be great for him if he goes to an apartment. Many come to us as surrenders due to excessive potty
accidents indoors. This is typically the result of poor potty routines within the
previous home so we do typically get them on track fairly quickly. As an IG parent
you must be willing to commit to a structured and reasonable routine to keep
your iggy from having excessive indoor accidents.***
