Leonard Chocolate Labrador Retriever & Hound Mix New York, NY

Leonard was rescued from a high kill shelter in South Carolina the third week in May. His post on instagram melted the heart of the man who drove down and brought him up into foster care. This handsome fellow is 45 lbs and prematurely gray at 7 - 9ish years of age. He has great teeth and a lot of stamina so is an older adult or a young senior.

He is perfectly behaved in the car (even on a 12 hour drive!), unafraid of the big city, and adoring of humans. Leonard will never be a candidate for the dog park but has become much less frightened of other dogs on his long walks around town. He thinks the throngs of people, however, are all there to pet and adore him! Leonard thought heaven was a huge line of grade school children passing him on the sidewalk.
