Leona-Hospice's Story

Leona is a 12+ year old Shih Tzu mix who has clearly had a difficult life, but you’d never know it from the gentle way she looks at you and the quiet determination she carries. This little lady has been through a lot, yet she still has so much love left to give.

When Leona first came into rescue, she was dealing with a painful yeast infection on her skin, which has since been treated and is doing much better. Leona does have dry eye and will need eye medication twice a day, but she’s a very cooperative patient and handles it like a champ.

She also has mammary tumors, but they certainly don’t slow her down. Leona still enjoys exploring the yard, feeling the sunshine on her face, and being near people who care about her.

What Leona needs most now is a soft place to land—a quiet home where she can spend her golden days surrounded by kindness and comfort. Whether she has months or years ahead of her, she deserves to know what it feels like to truly be loved and cherished.

Leona may be a senior, but her heart is full and ready to bond with someone special. If you have room in your home and your heart for a sweet soul who just wants peace, love, and a cozy place to rest, Leona will be forever grateful. Her adoption fee has been reduced to $150.
