What is State of Jefferson Working Dogs’s adoption process?

If you are inquiring about adopting one of our available dogs, you will be asked to fill out an application. A program coordinator will contact you for a phone interview. If approved, we will then set up a home visit. Each of our dogs has their own unique, individual personalities and our goal is to find a perfect match for the dog, as well as for you and your lifestyle. All non-professional placements are made by way of an adoption contract and a $500 tax-deductible donation to the program.

Is Leon good with kids?

Leon is good with kids under the age of 5 and kids over the age of 5.

Is Leon good with other animals?

Leon is good with other dogs. It is not known if Leon is good with cats.

When can I meet Leon?

As soon as the adoption organization has a chance to review your information, they’ll reach out with next steps and timing.

When can I adopt Leon?
