Leo's Story

Leo came into the rescue a little, tiny, emaciated mess but his tail was still wagging and he knew he was on to bigger and better things. Immediately we had his health needs addressed and bloodwork, fecal exam and physical exams say we are moving in the right direction. Leo is gaining weight and is currently over 11 pounds. We hope that his upcoming neuter and dental will also help him pick up a little more weight. He is an extremely friendly little guy when you are talking to him or feeding him, but is afraid when you try and pick him up so he is definitely going to need some work in the socialization with people department. He is however in LOVE with other dogs. He hasn't met one he doesn't like yet. He is 6 years old and that is a long time to have been living in a kennel only to now be making the move to companion pet so he is going to need someone who is understanding and sees the great potential he has. He is adorable and has the typical happy cavalier temperament. We have even caught him chasing his tail this week, jumping around and then getting the zoomies so he is definitely feeling and looking much better. It is wonderful when you get to see them come around and learn to be a dog again. If you are intersted in Leo, you may email iPAWinc2022@gmail.com for an application.
