Leo's Story

Sweet young dog, busy young brain

Leo is a fun young dog with a lot of affection to give and a little growing up left to do. He's sweet, people-oriented, and has done very well with families, including children--gently taking treats from a smaller child and showing a soft, submissive side when meeting new people.

He has some classic young-dog energy, especially when coming out of the kennel. Leo can get wound up during leash-up and transitions, with jumping, grabbing at the leash, and generally letting his excitement get ahead of his manners. Once he gets moving, though, he settles much better and walks just fine. He also appears house-trained.

Leo will need an adopter who can handle an energetic young dog and continue working on impulse control, calm exits, and basic manners. One important note: he does not appear to be a fit for dog-dog play right now, so he'd be safest as the only dog in the home at this time. If you want a young dog who is loving, eager, and full of potential, Leo is worth a look.We are open to the public Tuesday - Sunday (1PM - 5PM)! No Appointments required!
