Leo's Story

Leo is a loveable 50lb, 11 year old cockapoo who has a heart of gold and charm of a socialite. He loves meeting new people and his gentle, kind personality endears him to everyone. He has not been tested with very young children but does get along with older children. He loves meeting other dogs and has lived harmoniously with cats.

Don’t let his age fool you; this buxom boy is young at heart and is always up for adventure whether it is hiking trails or a ride in the car. He is a professional “go with the flow” companion. If you love walking, Leo is a perfect partner. He’s great on leash walks and loves to sniff and explore all the treasures that nature has to offer along the way. Frequent walking would be good for Leo as he is carrying a little extra winter weight (but honestly, who isn’t after the winter we just had?!)

Leo has glaucoma that requires daily drops, but it does not greatly impair his vision and he can see quite well. He also has a lipoma behind his left front leg that has been tested by the vet and does not inhibit him in any way. And speaking of the vet, Leo is a perfect gentleman at the vet's office; he stands quietly for the doctor for his examination and eye drops. There appears to be no stiffness in Leo’s joints and regular walking will help them stay that way.

Leo would like his future adopters to be warned that he is a master thief when it comes to Kleenex so it has to be kept high and out of reach. He is the epitome of good manners; he doesn’t bark much, loves to run around and play a good game of fetch and enjoys a good game of searching for treats.

If you’re looking for a sweet, easygoing, and affectionate companion who’s equal parts gentle soul and playful spirit, Leo would love to meet you and show you all the love he has to offer!
