Leo's Story

Leo is a solid boy who is ready to take his place in a loving home. He craves attention, hugs, and someone who will take time to play with him. He is about 5 years old and weighs 71 pounds. Leo is friendly to people and most other dogs, but may be too interested in cats for their comfort. He would need a family without small children as his strong enthusiasm for play may be a little overwhelming. <br/><br/>Leo with thrive in a home with a yard or farm to play and to explore, and to put his energy to good use. We don't know how happy the first five years of Leo's life have been, but we are all hoping that he'll move forward to a happy, loving home for the rest of his days. <br/><br/><br/>Thank you for considering Leo and supporting our small, rural animal shelter. Adopting save lives! Our dogs and cats are among the best you will find anywhere. <br/><br/>The Powell County Animal Shelter is at 121 Echo Hollow Road, Clay City, KY. Powell County Animal Shelter 's Adoption Policy
We have an application form that gives us information about potential adopters' homes and family situations. This helps us to determine if an animal will be safe in their new environment, and if the new owner would be willing and financially able to care for a new pet and to commit to keeping it for the span of its natural life. In addition to logistical and practical questions, we encourage potential owners to think about how they will live daily with a new pet, and to understand what a lifelong commitment to a pet means.
