Leno's Story

Meet Leno! He is one special 4 month old, 7.5 lb, Chihuahua/Min Pin boy 💙. Leno was born with skeletal abnormalities in his hind legs which effect his gait. On x-ray it appears that his knee caps did not develop and there may be some muscles that did not develop fully. While it does mean he walks a little differently, it does not slow him down! Leno is an inquisitive, busy puppy that loves to play and snuggle.

Thanks to a very kind donation, Leno was fitted for a wheelchair cart this past week and he is learning how to use that for walks and zooming around the yard. He does not use a cart full time and as of now is only using it for 15 minutes or so at a time while he learns. Leno cannot use stairs so he does need someone who can carry him if stairs are in the home. He would also do best in a home without small children or large dogs.

If you think you might be a good match for this special boy, please complete our app at www.stlsdp.org
