Lennon's Story
Pet Location: Wayside’s Canine Behavior Center – I'd love to show off all the cool things I’ve learned at Wayside! Please arrive at the shelter before 4pm on our open adoption days to meet me!

My friends at Wayside say:
- I am enrolled in LIFT University, and a graduate of Waifs with Wisdom. LIFT University is a program for dogs to build confidence in new situations and work on managing energy. Waifs with Wisdom is a program for dogs to learn basic commands and leash walking skills. My adoption comes with a free 30-minute private training session.
- I had experience living successfully around cats in my previous home.
- My previous owner said that I am crate-trained.
- Balls, squeaky toys, rope toys, I love them all!
- I am eligible for a Slumber Pawty, a 7-10 day in-home trial period. Please visit our website for additional information.

My home needs are:
- I must meet other dogs in the home before adoption to ensure we can be buddies.
- No apartments or shared living spaces for me, please! I like to use my voice when I am excited
- I need a home with kids 6 years old and older who will enjoy my enthusiasm for life!
- I will need an active adopter who can keep me busy!
- For my safety, I need to go home on an anti-slip collar called a martingale collar. For your convenience, we sell them in our retail store, Whiskers and Wags.

Check out my super cool new video! Scroll through my photos to watch.

Hiya, I’m Lennon!

I’m an 8-month-old mixed breed boy, and my trainers here describe me as a charming, playful guy with the best full-body wiggles you’ve ever seen. Right now, I am proudly enrolled in the LIFT (Low Impulse; Fear Tendencies) program here at Wayside Waifs, which just means I'm working with some awesome human friends to build up my confidence and manners. Because of that, I can be a little unsure of new people at first, but don't let that fool you... I warm up really quickly once I know you're a friend!

I am a young, athletic guy, so I would absolutely thrive with an active adopter who can keep my mind and body busy. I love going on long walks, hitting the trails for hikes, and I absolutely LOVE my toys! Because I've got some energy to burn and need space to stretch my legs, I cannot live in an apartment. I need a home with a bit more room to groove. I’m also already crate trained, which is a huge plus!

When it comes to roommates, I have a few specific preferences. I actually have experience living with cats from when I was a younger puppy, but I do need to meet any potential canine brothers or sisters at the shelter before going home to make sure our play styles match. Once I get some of my puppy energy out, my affectionate side totally takes over, and I love to snuggle up and get super cuddly with my favorite people.

If you are looking for an adventure buddy who is smart, eager to learn, and ready to shower you with love and wiggles, come ask the staff about me. I can’t wait to show you my playful side!

Love, Lennon
