Lemon's Story

Meet Lemon!<br/><br/>This 3 year old 9lb little cutie is ready to find her forever family after being found as a stray in Houston, TX.<br/><br/><br/>Her foster dad says:<br/>I love how quickly she’s made our home her home, and blended right in with our other animals. She’s already picked out her favorite spots and favorite toys, and every day more of her sweet little personality comes out. One of my favorite things is hearing her little feet pitter patter on the hardwood floor on the way into bed, and how she prances around like a little deer!|<br/><br/>My partner is fond of calling her Chiquita Bonita because she’s so sweet and pretty. She's polite, affectionate, and all-around love!<br/>She’s done very well since arriving! She comes with us on errands and has also accompanied my partner to work, and she’s been so polite and adaptable. She loves my 35lb Aussie terrier, they snuggle and play together. She's good with cats! Pretty much ignores them.<br/>She loves to play - she LOVES her plushie rat - it was my partner’s, but<br/>she was so polite about asking for it that it is now hers. She likes to carry it<br/>around with her and suckle on it - it’s very sweet!<br/><br/>She would do best with another dog that’s more laid back or submissive! She loves having another dog around (she is always playing with her foster brother!), but is definitely more of an alpha. It’s really funny seeing her tiny self boss around a 35lb dog!! <br/><br/>She is also an absolute snuggle machine and loves nothing more than curling up after a long walk. <br/><br/>She'd be great with someone who will match her excitement and let her snuggle in under the blanket with them - she’s big on burrowing, and even sometimes tries to get in your shirt to snuggle up. Also someone who will bring her with them on their adventures! She’s excellent at running errands!"<br/><br/>*Lemon tested positive for heartworm in TX and was treated prior to departure*<br/><br/>INTERESTED IN ADOPTING?<br/>To adopt Lemon, apply on our website www.truenorthrescue.org/adopt and email adopt.truenorthrescue@gmail.com to follow up on your application.<br/><br/>PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL TO ASK IF HE/SHE IS AVAILABLE. IF THIS LISTING IS UP, THE DOG IS NOT ADOPTED YET.<br/><br/>Also, we have a very high volume of applications and we are all volunteers. We cannot respond to every application personally. Please make sure your application gives us a good picture of your family and the life you plan on providing a dog from our rescue. We choose a home based on the BEST FIT for EACH dog and approve on a dog by dog basis. Thank you!

True North Pet Rescue Mission's Adoption Policy
First Step: Submit Your Application True North does not issue blanket approvals, we consider the needs of each specific dog when reviewing applications. If you don't have a specific dog in mind when applying, please note this on your application so that we can keep this in mind when reviewing. We require home photos for all applicants, but can accept a video replacement. Please enter as much detail as possible on your application, this helps us better understand what you are looking for and how this relates to the needs of the dog you have applied for. For puppies under 12 weeks, we require a care plan. This includes a plan for when the dog will be left alone, as puppies younger than 12 weeks should not be left alone longer than 2-3 hours at a time. Please Note: Due to the high volume of applications we receive, it is not always possible to reply to everyone. If your application is approved, you can expect the following. Second Step: Application Review & Approval 1. If your application is approved, an email will be sent connecting you with the dog's current foster. At this time, you may schedule a mutually convenient time to meet. 2. After meeting, you have 24 hours to confirm if you would like to move forward with finalizing the adoption. After this, if we have not heard from you, we will begin scheduling other meets. 3. If you choose to finalize, we will issue an adoption contract via email. Once the signed agreement has been electronically returned along with the adoption fee (which will be disclosed prior to adopting), you will be all set to coordinate for pick-up with the foster! Adoption Fees: Our adoption fees are comparable to those found amongst other well-known rescues in the city. We only accept electronic payments for adoption fees.
