Lelaini's Story

AN INQUIRY FROM PETFINDER IS NOT AN APPLICATION! READ THE ENTIRE POST FOR INFORMATION HOW TO APPLY.

Meet Lelaini! Lelaini is a 1 year old female chihuahua mix and she weighs about 8 pounds. Lelaini arrived in rescue after being surrendered and being very scared. She has settled into foster care and is starting to thrive and is ready for a forever home. Her foster mom says: "Lani" is the most affectionate dog! Her favorite thing to do is snuggle! She will do anything for affection. In fact, I trained her to sit in one day because she learned I wont pet her if shes jumping on me. That said, she wants to be on you 24/7, so Ive been working to get her to be more independent and to play and run outside without me right next to her. She's doing much better, but shes still a bit of a tripping hazard under my feet. She loves her toys, especially little cat toys. She had never been on a leash before, so we've been working on leash training. She's still a bit all over the place with that. She is not yet potty trained, but we're working on that too. She loves other little dogs who want to play with her, and even the ones who dont, shell endlessly try anyway. She does well with cats too, but keep her away from the litter. Iykyk. She's been pretty shy around other people on our walks and when someone comes into my house while I'm there. I had another foster watch her while I was out of town, and she was instantly their best friend, so she might be a one-person kind of gal. She hasn't been around kids. She can get feisty over food, and Ive never seen a dog inhale their food so fast. I have to use a slow feeder. This is a must because she will choke herself. She has a lot of puppy energy, but will calm down instantly if she's on your lap, and by lap, I mean nuzzled up to your neck and staring lovingly into your eyes. Seriously. She's ridiculously adorable.

Lelaini is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped and has had her teeth cleaned.

Lelaini is fostered in the Orlando area and her adoption donation is $375. If you are interested in applying to adopt Lelaini, please visit www.floridalittledogrescue.com to read the adoption process and complete an application! Please note that emails simply asking "Is this dog available" will not be returned, as applications are worked in the order received and availability largely depends on when you apply:) Please also know we do not adopt out of state! Thank you!
