Leah's Story
Meet Leah! Leah came to us through our friends at Lawrence County Humane Society. She was having a hard time in the shelter and we were blessed enough to have a foster step up for her. Leah is an American Bully, and is about 65 pounds. She’s about 5 years old and still has young dog energy! She has lived with young children and is in foster with another dog. She can not live with cats.

Leah has skin allergies and will need to be kept on her allergy meds (Apoquel), as well as a chicken-free diet. She’s a very good-natured bull in an antique shop. Her house manners are impeccable. She’s never had an accident in the house. She’s spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines and preventatives.

Leah’s ideal family would be someone who works from home. She is sensitive to being crated, but has done well being left out. She’s also been home alone, monitored remotely, with her foster brother, and has done well. She may associate being caged or kenneled with her time in a shelter. She could slowly acclimate to it, but for right now we’re avoiding the thing that stresses her out.

Leah can’t go for a walk without folks stopping to say hi. She is incredibly social with people, and has yet to meet a “stranger.” She would like an owner who can match her social energy and also snuggle up on the couch at night and chill.
