LB aka Mr. Bud's Story
Name: LB (“Little Buddy”) Buddy (“Mr. Bud” “Bud”)

Temperament: UBER Affectionate, loves people & snuggles, gentle

Energy Level: Medium – enjoys play sessions but also naps hard after a good play session

Favorite Activities: Playing fetch of any kind (loves balls), tug occasionally, deep stares into his favorite person’s eyes, laying ON you for extra closeness, loves his Benebone

Quirks: Nibbles when he gets overly excited – usually when he wants more pets/attention. Buddy loves stuffy toys but keep a watchful eye because he is a determined little dude and will de-stuff a toy in record time looking for whatever is making it squeak.

Ideal Home: Home with human home more than away, good with kids (youngest been around 10 years), playful with other female dogs and enjoys roughhousing. Cats are interesting but has not shown a ton of prey drive, unless his foster siblings engage. Buddy required a canine companion, due to his prior life – he was left abandoned and he gets very insecure left alone. He does incredible when there is another dog in the home if he’s left alone (crated), he just doesn’t like being by himself.

Training: House-trained and kennel-trained (but may have some initial “marking” behaviors, due to unfamiliar environment, knows sit and working on down (needs some reassurance) and he also knows “up” for hugs. Walks well on leash, LOVES the car – rides excellent and quiet.

Special Needs: Buddy prefers company of female dogs over males. Buddy can jump relatively high, he has never attempted to escape our yard (6-foot brick wall); however, if left unsupervised, can see him pushing his boundaries. Buddy does tend to shut down if voices are loud, he was clearly yelled at previously and needs time to know he is safe.

Why He’s Amazing: Buddy is a total LOVE, he loves people and loves to be near his people, whether sitting in your lap or laying at your feet. He is a “soft” boy who would excel being a lap dog and someone to devote his life to.

Best Fit: Someone to call his own and love on him. A person to play with him regularly and work on improving his skills. He could easily be a hiking pal or walking “buddy” and join you on adventures. Even better if you adopt me with my best friend and foster sibling, Dobby - she's a pittie mix too and we are two peas in a pod - also available thru Hope of Deliverance.

A Day in the Life: Mr. Bud is an AMAZING sleeper and once he is down for the night (unless nature calls) he is down until you wake in the morning.
