Layla's Story

Meet Layla - tiny fluff, maximum security risk

Layla is a stunning 3-year-old Pomeranian weighing in at a mighty 9 lbs... and apparently believes she is fully qualified to escape Alcatraz. Yes, she's beautiful. Yes, she's loving. And yes-she will absolutely scale, leap, or Houdini her way out of your yard if given the opportunity.

Let's be clear: Layla is not just a "flight risk"... she is a fence-climbing, escape-plotting professional. This girl requires a tall, secure, privacy fence-think fortress, not picket. If there's a weakness, she will find it. If there's a gap, she will test it. If there's a way out... she's already working on it.

Now that we've covered her side hustle as an escape artist...

Layla is also incredibly sweet and a little shy at first. Give her some patience and consistency, and she will bond hard to her person-like your tiny, fluffy shadow who thinks you hung the moon. Once she feels safe, her playful, affectionate personality really comes out, and she is an absolute joy.

She gets along well with other dogs and wouldn't mind a buddy, but it's not required. She's done great with both men and women. Cats and kids are unknown, but she has shown a gentle, loving nature.

She's partially housebroken and improving with routine. Not crate trained, but she behaves well in the home. She knows her name and comes when called... assuming she hasn't already scoped out her next escape route.

No known medical issues-just a strong belief in freedom.

If you're ready for a loyal, loving companion AND you have a yard that resembles a maximum-security facility... Layla is your girl

Tired Dog Rescue's Adoption Policy
Tired Dog Rescue adoption fee includes all sets of vaccinations, heartworm test, fecal exam, spay/neuter and microchip. We also recommend that you research the breed that you want to adopt. Ask yourself....Can you afford the cost of a high maintenance dog such as a Cocker Spaniel or Shih-tzu etc? The grooming costs are about 50.00 every 6-8 weeks. Are you in a position to adopt a puppy which will require training? Can you afford the medical costs that might be involved in adopting a senior pup? We want every adoption to be for life so please think about what you can and what you are willing to do before considering each pet. If you are unsure please contact us and we can help answer any questions.
