Layla's Story

At around 5 years old and 50 pounds, this beautiful husky/shepherd mix is the perfect blend of adventure buddy and homebody. Layla is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to find a peaceful place to finally call her own. Her stunning bi-colored eyes are show-stopping, but it’s her devotion that really steals the spotlight.

Layla gets along well with other dogs, but cats are a firm “no thanks.” She forms a deep bond with her person and is wonderfully loyal — the kind of dog who will happily stick by your side through it all. Because she can be protective of her chosen human, Layla will do best in a calm, quiet home without small children where she can feel safe and secure.

She’s still working on her house training and will need a little patience and consistency as she continues to learn. Layla also isn’t a fan of the crate, so she’d thrive in a home that can offer her guidance without relying on crating.

One of Layla’s favorite things? Walks. She strolls on a leash like an absolute dream and loves getting out and about with her foster mama. If you’re looking for a steady walking companion who won’t drag you down the road (literally), she’s your girl.

After being brought in as a stray, Layla is ready to trade uncertainty for stability and quiet moments with someone she trusts. She’s not asking for much — just a calm home, a little patience, and a whole lot of love.

If you are interested in meeting Layla, please complete our adoption application:
https://www.arfhumane.org/arf-adoption-application
