Lavender's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Lavender found herself unwanted and in a high kill shelter in West Texas. She is good with other dogs, and people, but cats are unknown. She is higher energy and uses her mouth to beg for attention, very like the Australian Shepherd herding breed characteristic. She is a puppy and can grow out or learn to redirect that energy. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training to be successful. She will be arriving in MN the weekend of 1/23 and is looking for a foster to adopt home.<br/>First priority will go to someone who lives in the twin cities metro in order to bring to a vetting appointment. Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.

Matty's Heart & Soul Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet. Your desire to provide a loving forever home to a rescued animal helps us in our mission. When adopting a pet, you have the option of picking one from an animal shelter or a rescue organization. Both are good options, however, an animal rescue – like Matty's Heart & Soul Animal Rescue, is completely volunteer-run and as a charitable organization we are funded through donations. Our animals are in foster homes and we do everything we can to learn as much about their likes and dislikes, temperament and activity level as we can while in foster care. By doing so, it enables us to work more closely with potential adopters to do our best to help ensure a “good fit.” The adoption process might take a bit longer than adopting from a shelter or humane organization, but our goal is finding a match that benefits both the pet and the family interested in adopting. We place dogs and cats in loving, responsible, committed foster homes until the comprehensive adoption process is complete. The adoption process includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a new pet into their homes and lives. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference, background check and a home visit. Pets in our care are spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, and are up to date on rabies, da2pp, distemper, bordatella, and are tested and treated for parasites/worms, heartworm (if over 6 months), and Feline Leukemia/ Feline HIV, as well as any other veterinary care that is needed. Adoption fees are as follows: Dogs under 3 years = $350 plus tax Dogs 3 years and over = $300 plus tax Cats under 3 years= $200 plus tax Cats 3yrs and over =$150 plus tax
