LAURYN's Story

This beautiful girl came to our shelter as a stray, so her history is mostly a mystery. Friendly with people after some time to warm up, very sweet and likes people. She has not done well with other dogs during brief encounters at shelter in playgroup setting. Insights from her adventure buddies and foster friends: Lauryn is an absolute sweetheart. She did great in the car, never barked or whined. She walks well on a leash. While she’s a bit timid at first, she is extremely sweet and warmed up to us throughout the day. She does not appear to be very food motivated, but she perks up when you speak baby talk to her and praise her. A little angel! Lauryn is a sweetheart! She was a little bit reserved at first, but friendly towards us, and she was fine about getting in our car. She was also happy to go into our house and explore our fenced backyard. Lauryn was very affectionate with lots of kisses for us, but also curious and independent in exploring our yard. She was happy to take treats from our hand and usually came to us when we whistled for her, if she was walking around our yard. She didn't want to stay in our house much, mostly wanted to walk around our yard, sniffing everything and occasionally come back for treats and pets. Our senior dog recently passed, so we have no other pets in the house right now, but I'm sure our house and yard smelled a lot like our dog and Lauryn was very interested to sniff everything. She never wanted to sit or lie down, just so curious to explore, but she always came to us for kisses and treats. Lauryn is so gentle and sweet! She was incredibly quiet, too. We think she might be a bit shy, but once she settles into a new home, we think she'll be a cuddle bug! She's also not too big, so she shouldn't be very intimidating. She just wants to give kisses and explore the world.
