Laurel's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. The most noteworthy thing about Laurel is her gentleness. She is an easy, laid-back lady who loves affection...and has the cutest lazy spinning tail wag. We have not seen her with children but think she would do well because of her temperament. She has been great with other dogs and, although she doesn't actually roughhouse with them, she will run and play chase. Cats are fine with her too and she shows no real interest in squirrels or rabbits. House training is great. She likes to be outside for short periods of time and has had no accidents in the house. Laurel enjoys lying on the couch but is also very comfortable in her crate. She sleeps in her crate all night long with the door closed and naps in her crate after breakfast with the door open. If her foster mom goes out for less than an hour she has full roam of the house, otherwise she is crated. She does like her people to be home most of the time. Laurel shares toys with the other dogs but will growl if they come close to her when she has a bone. She has no problem with her foster mom taking her toys or her bones. She craves being petted, will ask for more with her paws, and will happily insert herself if another dog is getting attention. Her leash walking skills are pretty good but she stops when she hears noises and at times tries to go in her own direction as her nose leads her. Laurel is heartworm positive but she will be treated soon. She will be ready for sleepover the first week of July.
