Laurel's Story

Meet Laurel

A gentle soul learning that the world isn't such a scary place after all.

Laurel is quiet, shy, and sensitive Boxer mix who came to us after being abandoned in a cemetery alongside a male dog (Hemlock) and what we believe may have been their puppy (Rue). It's clear she's been through a lot, and new situations can feel overwhelming for her. Because of this, Laurel will need a patient and understanding home that's willing to move at her pace and help her build confidence.

While she may be fearful at first, Laurel finds comfort in the presence of calm, respectful male dogs - especially the male boxer mix she was found with. She truly lights up on walks when she has him by her side, so a home with a gentle male dog could help her continue to feel safe.

Laurel would do best in a quieter household with older children (12 and up) who can respect her need for space and understanding that takes time. Little kids are just too much for her right now.

With patience, kindness, and a little encouragement, Laurel has so much love to give. She may not be the dog who runs up to greet you right away, but once you earn her trust, you'll have a loyal companion who will quietly steal your heart.
