Latte- Calling all kind ladies's Story

Calling all gals!!! (Because Latte has decided men are extra scary likely due to past abuse).

Latte is the kind of girl who makes you celebrate the tiniest victories—because for her, they aren’t tiny at all.
She is a completely sweet, gentle girl who has clearly learned that keeping her distance feels safest. She isn’t ready for cuddles or affection yet. She doesn’t want you right beside her—but she does want to know you’re there.

Outside at night, she’ll explore a fenced yard as long as she can see her person nearby. During the workday, she’s content to lie on her bed in the office while her foster works or has meetings. She’s learning that sharing space with a human can be safe.

And every so often, we get a glimpse of the dog hiding underneath all that fear.

She LOVES being outside, sniffing, exploring and digging. She’ll secretly play with her squeaky toys when she thinks nobody is watching. She thinks a snuffle mat filled with breakfast is fantastic, and treats are definitely one of the better things humans have invented.

She’s also apparently decided that horses are highly suspicious creatures. When one appeared on TV, Latte suddenly came alive—standing up, staring at the screen, fur raised, growling and barking. She spent the rest of the evening keeping one eye on the television just in case those horses came back.

Latte thrives on routine and predictability. She sleeps quietly through the night in her crate, eats well and views her crate as her safe place.

What Latte needs most isn’t someone determined to “fix” her. She needs someone willing to give her time.

A quiet, patient home where she can have a safe space of her own and learn at her own pace would be ideal.

Latte has shown no aggression. When frightened, she retreats and submits. That’s why her adopter needs to understand fearful dogs and be willing to let trust come to them rather than forcing interaction.

Because underneath that scared little girl, her foster is already catching glimpses of someone else:

A silly girl. A playful girl. A curious girl. A happy girl.

She’s in there.

Latte just needs a patient person willing to give her the time, love and safety she needs to finally come out.

Rescue Coop is a registered 501c that saves dogs from imminent euthanasia and at risk situations and transports them directly to approved adopters nationwide. We are located in SC but in three years, we have placed 550 dogs in 28 states. We post our dogs in the areas we regularly transport to. Our adoption fee is $200 with no additional transport charges. Unfortunately we are unable to do meet and greets but our adoption coordinators strive to make excellent matches. If interested in one of our pups, please submit an application and an adoption coordinator will call.
Our application is at RescueCoop. Org under Services if youd like to apply.
Note: Breeds are best guess.
