Lassie's Story

Lassie came into the shelter April 19th, 2024, picked up running loose outside of the city limits of Alpine. When she came in, she was a bit leery of people but, who could blame her. Lassie has been getting better every day especially after being introduced to other dogs, she really came out of her shell and gets so excited to play. <br/>Lassie is a rock star in play group, there hasn't been a dog she doesn't get along with, so she gets to spend the majority of her day in the yard with friends. She is also a great swimmer; she loves getting in the pool. <br/>Lassie can still be a little shy with new people but loves the attention once she gets it. Oh, and she's a talker! One of the staff members said that is their favorite characteristic of her! She is an absolute pro at leash walking, she is potty trained and she doesn't even need a leash to go to the play yard, she will run right to it. All potential adopters are required to fill out our adoption application. If the animal is ready for adoption and the adopter's application is approved, they can take the animal immediately after the adoption fee is paid. We may require a home visit prior to adoption and if multiple applications are submitted, we reserve the right to pick the most appropriate adopter for that animal. We also reserve the right to deny an application.
