I am a four year old girl who has enough energy to power the entire state of NC. I've been at my foster mom's since I was 11 weeks old. I'm really good in my crate during the day while foster mom is at work. I sleep in my crate at night as well. I also express my opinion when I'm crated and something else is happening in the house. I have strong FOMO! I may not look it, but my foster mom.had my DNA tested and I am Great Pyrenees, along with some staffie and some pittie and cattle dog. These long legs like to run lots of zoomies around the yard. They also help me jump like a kangaroo. A high fence may be necessary to contain my excitement. I would do best in an active household, with no small kids and no small animals. I do have a strong herding instinct. My foster mom had a cat that I really like to put in my mouth. I don't think the cat appreciated it very much. But I find it a lot of fun. I don't have to be the only dog in the household, but the other dog should probably be my size or a little larger and most likely a male dog. I seem to get along best with them. No girl drama! I can also be very protective of my stuff - food and toys especially. I don't like sharing them with other dogs. I am also the BEST guard dog - maybe a little too good. I want to alert you that you just let a stranger in the house and I have to go into protector mode. I am still learning that not everyone is trying to sell us solar panels and I don't need to be so mean sounding to foster mom's guests. If you are a dog savvy family that is willing to work with training and help me become the best dog ever, please put in an application. ♥ Apply to Adopt Complete our adoption application. All adopters must be at least twenty one years old. ♥ Reference Checks After we receive your application, our volunteers will contact your veterinarian and your personal references. ♥ Home Check If your application moves forward, a volunteer will schedule a home check if needed for the dog of interest. This visit is not about judging your house. It helps us see whether your overall setup fit the needs of the dog you want to adopt. It also gives your current pets and any children a chance to meet the dog to be sure it is a true pawfect match. All human and canine family members must meet the new dog. ♥ Finalize the Adoption When everything is approved, you will sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. This fee covers a remarkable amount of care. Your new dog will be: • up to date on age appropriate vaccinations • spayed or neutered • microchipped • on heartworm prevention • on flea and tick medication • groomed • started on house training All Pawfect Match dogs go home with a microchip, collar, leash, and a Pawfect Match tag.
