Lando's Story

FOREVER HOME NEEDED FOR SWEET, GENTLE DOG LANDO!

Lando is a happy, loving, gorgeous red dog. He is a gentle giant who just wants to be near you…sleeping at your feet or with his head in your lap. He will be six years old in January and would like a peaceful home to spend his days. He has not been trained to get along with other dogs, so being your only dog is a must. As for cats, he pretty much ignores them, except when the cats approach his human. He is very protective and will chase them off if they get near. So, being the only pet would be ideal. He loves people guests. He just needs a good sniff and then he will treat them like family.

He is perfectly potty trained and loves his bed. He doesn’t require a large yard. He just needs a patch of grass to do his business.

He is being trained to walk nicely on a leash. Using a halti-collar has been key to teaching him not to pull and makes for a relaxing walk. It has also been very helpful in keeping him focused on the road if you come across another dog-walker. Passing by (non-dog) walkers or joggers does not trigger any reaction.

A CCL (like ACL) injury required TPLO surgery in May and he is healing nicely. He is healthy and ready for adoption into a family who can commit to giving him a forever home. His ideal weight is 85 pounds and we are making progress getting him back down to that after his post-surgery weight gain.

Please reach out if you are interested in adopting Lando!

Follow us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/austincatsanddogsrescue/

Follow us on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/austin.catsanddogs.rescue
