Lana's Story

Lana is a Brittany Spaniel/Lab mix female. As of 10/31/24, she is about 9 months old, currently 44lb and expected to be around 65lb full grown. She doesn't shed much despite her medium/medium long hair which is straight so it doesn't look that long in photos but in person it is considerably longer than a lab's hair.

She is friendly with other dogs and humans. She is not a fan of dogs who don't respect personal space and are in her face constantly. No doggie dentists! She has not been around small children, but is expected to be friendly. Like most dogs her size, she would probably knock small children down and therefore not recommended for smaller kids. She craves attention and loves sitting beside you. She would do well in an active home with a family or individual, with or without other pets. She has some puppy energy, but it's controlled energy and not overly wild. She likes to come lay her head on your lap and get petted. She likes when you talk to her softly. Much like her two breeds - Brittany Spaniel and Lab - Lana is very smart. She took to leash breaking quickly...within 10 minutes. She is eager to please. She is crate trained and jumps in eagerly. She's quiet and goes to bed when it's bed time. She very seldom barks when in her crate. She loves treats and is very treat motivated when it comes to training. She could benefit from the use of a slow feeder dog bowl as she gobbles her food. We see a lot of dogs at our rescue. Sometimes there are dogs that you know are going to make good family dogs - Lana is going to make a GREAT family dog.

Lana is healthy. She has been spayed and will have had a minimum of 2 rounds of vaccinations and rabies before going to a new home.

We transport our dogs to the New England area states. Interested in adopting but not sure how it all works if you're out of state? We will be happy to walk you through the process. We host video chat calls with our rescues and potential adopters so you can get an idea of the dog's personality and mannerisms. We have an in depth application that helps us make a good match between adopter and rescue. We can find the location nearest to you where our transport stops.

Adoption fee is $200 plus $200 transport fee. $400 total.

You can find our Adoption Application form at: Https://form.jotform.com/232435478231051

ValentineK9Rescue@gmail.com
