LAMBEAU in WI's Story

LAMBEAU IN A NUTSHELL: A DELIGHTFUL, PLAYFUL 2-YEARS-YOUNG WESTIE BOY WHO REQUIRES A HOME WITH A "MOSTLY-AT-HOME", AGE-APPROPRIATE OWNER AND A FENCED YARD. ANOTHER, LIKE-SIZED DOG WOULD BE A DEFINITE PLUS AND HOMES WITH CHILDREN 10 OR OVER WILL BE CONSIDERED. TERRIER EXPERIENCE A DEFINITE PLUS!
IF THE ABOVE SOUNDS LIKE YOU, READ ON. . .

Lambeau is an adorable, 2-year-young purebred Westie who is healthy, happy and will be a wonderful addition to the right household.

This is a playful, loyal, gentle boy who sticks like velcro to his favorite humans. Although initially shy with strangers, he quickly warms up and his foster parents' extended family and friends are always warmly greeted when they visit.

True to his Westie roots, Lambeau is an alert and watchful dog with a high prey drive. For that reason, a fenced yard is an absolute must (no electric fences). But Lambeau also enjoys leashed walks so a family that is active and intent on keeping a young dog engaged in daily life is important. While Lambeau does enjoy quiet time and cuddling, this is NOT your grandma's lap dog!

HOUSEKEEPING HABITS: Lambeau was not neutered by his original owners and was a bit of a marker when first coming to his foster home. Since being neutered just a few weeks ago, he has shown significant improvement. However, Lambeau's new family must be willing to be patient and gentle while he fine-tunes his potty habits. If having a dog that is 100% potty trained right off the bat is important to you, then Lambeau would not be a good fit.

When his foster parents are out of the house, Lambeau stays in a smaller area of the home. Because his potty training is still a work in progress, this is an ideal situation for all. In time, he can be given more freedom. At night, Lambeau sleeps in a dog bed in his foster parents' room.

PLAYTIME: When it comes to play, Lambeau scores an A+. He especially loves squeaky toys and will happily fetch and return his toys and even catch them mid-air. He is quite the athlete and would be a wonderful candidate for canine performance sports such as agility, rally or scent work.

KIDS AND OTHER ANIMALS: Lambeau's original family had three children and he does very well with youngsters. We are happy to consider families with kids who meet the above criteria, however, children should be 10 or older and be well versed in how to properly interact with a dog.

Lambeau loves canine companionship with like-sized dogs and special consideration will be given to applicants with another playful pooch. We do not recommend a home with a cat or other small pets that might ignite Lambeau's prey drive.

If interested in adopting Lambeau, you will need to fill out our application which can be found at: https://share.google/KJ1frxsmAg6k9zJFH

We are happy to consider out-of-state applications, however, if approved, all family members--children and dogs included--must come to the foster home to finalize the adoption
