Lalita's Story

Meet Lalita,

Lalita is a 1-year-old, 36-pound female mixed breed. Lalita is a smart, friendly and affectionate young lady. She came into foster care about a month ago. Lalita's story is not a feel good one. At less than one year old, she found herself abandoned in a shelter, emaciated and pregnant. She gave birth in the shelter to a small litter of three before she was even a year old. Lalita finally made it into foster care when her puppies were six weeks old. She was still extremely skinny, but her pups were very healthy, (a testament to her good mothering). Despite all the hardships endured, Lalita is sweet and good-natured. She is a bit of an old soul. She looks at you tentatively as if to say that she's seen way more than she should have at her young age. You still see the puppy in her when she's playing with other dogs. But, with humans, both adults and children, she is very gentle. Somewhat surprisingly, Lalita is not a fearful dog at all. At the beginning of her time in a foster home, she was a little stand-offish, skeptical that humans really had anything much to offer her. It's been a great joy to see how fast she has come to trust people, and now seeks out affection and snuggles from her foster mom. She has developed a nice blend of independence and affection.

Lalita is all white with tan ears and a big tan spot on her tail. Her hair is very short, so much so that you can see the black spots on her skin below. Lalita spends her days exploring the yard, romping with her foster siblings and snuggling with her foster mom. She is very eager to please. It only takes the slightest directive to stop her from unwanted behaviors. She is quiet indoors. Outdoors, she will definitely let you know if there are any unusual activities in the neighborhood. Lalita is house-broken and a great car rider. She is a smart girl, having already learned some basic commands. She loves to go on walks and is good on the leash as long as her nose doesn't get the best of her.

Now that Lalita is healthy and done with raising her babies, she is ready to start her own life as a cherished pet in a loving home. Her start to life may have been rough, but she's ready for that to be a thing of the past. If you believe you are right person/family to give Lalita the love and commitment she deserves and provide her the happy ending to her story, please apply today. She would be a wonderful addition to your family.

Lalita is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $275.00.

To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination.
