Meet Lala - a sweet, soulful senior with a heart of gold!<br/><br/>At 8 years old and 58 pounds, this purebred "velvet hippo" is the definition of a gentle, low-key companion. She is an easy girl to spend time with-calm, affectionate, and happiest when she's close to her people. She is easy to get out of the kennel and settles nicely into whatever the day brings.<br/><br/>Lala has a low energy level with the occasional little burst of playfulness, making her a wonderful match for a relaxed home. On walks, she may pull mildly at first or when something catches her interest, but she otherwise walks on a loose leash and is very manageable. She shows great potty habits, taking care of business right away outside and keeping her space clean.<br/><br/>This sweet girl is treat motivated and has lovely manners-she takes treats gently and knows "sit" and "paw/shake." While she isn't very interested in toys, she more than makes up for it with her affectionate nature. Lala enjoys attention, accepts pets happily from everyone she meets, and only very occasionally jumps up, responding well to redirection.<br/><br/>Lala can hop into and out of a car on her own if it's low enough. She rides fairly well, though she may whimper a bit at first from some anxiety before settling down and relaxing for the ride. She handles a bath like a champ-maybe not her favorite activity, but she stands patiently and lets it happen.<br/><br/>Around other dogs, Lala may bark, especially if they bark at her first, but her body language stays loose without signs of tension. She is more talk than anything and does not escalate beyond that.<br/><br/>Overall, Lala is a loving, gentle senior lady who is ready to enjoy the simple things in life-soft beds, kind people, and plenty of affection.
