Lainie's Story

Lanie is a 43 pound 7 year old dachshund/corgi/beagle mix (vet’s best guess). She was an owner surrender due to no fault of her own. Due to circumstance they were unable to care for Lanie.

This sweet little girl loves to play fetch and chase squirrels. Lanie is currently in a foster home with 3 other dogs and 2 cats and gets along with everyone super well! She’s a little nervous of new things at first, but warms up very quickly. Lanie also loves to snooze next to her person and is easily teachable. She has a lot to say when she’s ready to play, has to potty, or thinks her foster siblings are playing too rough. In her foster home, she’s known as the “the referee”. Her foster parents report that she’s protective of her foster dad and alerts everyone if she thinks he’s in danger.

She does equally well whether she’s in her crate or left out in the house.

Lanie is a simple gal who just loves butt scratches, chewing bones, rope toys, eating ice and sticks, being around her people and wants a forever home.

*she eats fluff so we reframe from stuffy toys unless she can be given close supervision.

Relevant history: when she came to us, Lanie had a severe UTI and 3 bladder stones that required surgery. The surgery went well but she still had crystals in her urine. After maintaining a prescribed diet, Lanie was given a clean bill of health! To maintain a healthy pH and prevent future stones, Lanie must remain on her prescription food. You will be given at a bag at the time of adoption.
