Lainey's Story

Lainey: Living for the ride

Lainey is ready for the picking and we think you’ll kinda love her. Lainey is named for country singer-songwriter Lainey Wilson, and much like her namesake, she is smart, energetic and authentic. She lights up a room and loves to play with other dogs and people.

Though Lainey generally gets along well with other dogs, she occasionally decides she was born tough as nails and tries to start trouble with much larger dogs. She takes corrections well though. Cats? Well, let's just say she's not ready to headline a duet with one yet. She's been scared of the cats she's met, so she'll need slow introductions if there's a feline in her future. Cuddles are her jam... until that fluffy Great Pyrenees coat turns her into a hot mess.

Lainey is currently teething and she's decided that EVERYTHING belongs in her mouth. She has a little rebel running through her veins, no matter how many times you tell her not to chew something, she'll wait until you look away and then go right back to her criminal activities, making it look like a whirlwind has hit. Or a beaver. She's not particularly motivated by treats, so she can’t be easily buttered up. And when she's mad? She will say what she is thinking, that’s for sure!

Lainey will need an experienced owner who can handle her fire. She can be stubborn and mysteriously goes deaf when told to do something she doesn’t want to do. And she can't help it, it's the way she’s wired. She is a typical great pyrenees to the max, whatever else she is mixed with is not contributing much to her personality or looks.

Things a dog oughta know
* House-trained? You betcha!
* Kennel time? Walks right in without a fuss.
* Bedtime? Sleeps up to NINE HOURS. The girl clocks out harder than a country singer after a sold-out tour.
* Basic commands? She knows sit, touch, down, and off.

She’s got some big dreams up ahead and is ready for her brand new start. Will it be with you?

Born: May 12, 2026
Breed: Great Pyrenees mix
Gender: Female
Expected Size: Large
Activity Level: Puppy
Dogs: Yes
Cats: Yes, with careful introductions
Kids: Yes
Adoption Fee: $345

If you are interested in meeting Lainey, applications can be found here:

http://mgpr.weebly.com/dog-adoption-application.html

Manitoba Great Pyrenees Rescue's Adoption Policy
The adoption process starts with an application form to find out more information about your family to ensure the best fit for the dog. Applications can be found at http://mgpr.weebly.com/ Second step is to have reference checks and vet checks. We want to ensure all dogs go to responsible loving homes. Thirdly, is the meet and greet with the dog you are interested in adopting. We encourage all members of your family to be in attendance at this visit as the dog will be an integral part of all of their lives. The final step of the adoption process is a home visit from one of our team members. The home visit allows us to see the environment in which the dog will be living as well as to offer any tips and advice to making your home dog friendly. Then your new family member will come home to shower your family with unconditional love.
