Hi there, I'm Lainey! <br/><br/>I'm a sweet girl with a big heart and so much love to give. I didn't have the easiest start in life, but it didn't take me long to discover how wonderful love, snuggles, and a cozy couch can be. I'm a little shy when meeting new people, but give me a couple of minutes, and I'll likely be following you around, hoping to become your new best friend!<br/><br/>I'm a pretty easygoing girl who enjoys a little bit of everything. I love lounging on the couch, running around the yard with my dog friends, and playing a good game of chase. Another dog in my forever home would be a big bonus, but not required! I'm quiet almost all the time, although I might let out a little whine when I'm looking for some attention. And if you happen to have a hand available for belly rubs, I will happily volunteer my tummy!<br/><br/>I'm good with cats and friendly when meeting other dogs. I haven't been around children yet, but I may do well with them. Birds, however, aren't really my thing, so a bird-free home would be best for me.<br/><br/>I'm still learning some of the basics, including walking on a leash and feeling comfortable in a crate. I'll need a patient family to help me practice and build my confidence. I may need to be carried outside for potty breaks at first, but I catch on quickly once I learn the routine. I had just a couple of accidents during my first days in foster home, and I've been learning ever since!<br/><br/>My favorite times of day are evenings spent relaxing with my people, getting belly rubs, and, of course, MEAL TIME! <br/><br/>I'm ready to find my family and fill a home with love, snuggles, and happy little moments.<br/>---<br/>Lainey is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 10/24/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8:30am and 11:00am. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven't arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start's Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Visit our Foster to Adopt Program page to learn more. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start's veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.
