Laila's Story
Meet Laila! She is a Lhasa Apso, 10 years old. She is spayed, current on vaccinations and heartworm negative.

Laila loves to sit on your lap, and will gladly crawl into bed with you, if you let her.

She has never been crated and is housetrained. She is good with cats, but doesn’t like other dogs. She needs to be in an adult home, she does not do well with children.

If you would like to meet Laila, please call June at 440-522-8558 and she will set up an appointment.

Laila Jane born 9/18/2006
*Purebred Lhasa Ahpso
*15-16 pounds
*She will sit on your lap all day and will sleep with you if you let her.
*She has never been crated.
*She responds to treats, but usually will not take them from your hand.
*She is picky about toys, seems to prefer small tug ropes or sock.
*Likes to tear paper and stuff she finds on the floor, like dryer sheets.
*I am feeding her Dr Gary's Best Breed...one of their grain free kibbles. She is sensitive to wheat and corn so I would stick to the grain free foods. (gets itchy hot spots from grain foods) I put a little water with 1/3 cup kibble twice a day. She can be a finicky eater, a little shredded cheese on her food does the trick.
*She goes for grooming every 6 - 8 weeks, in the fall and spring she may need to go in sooner as she mats very quickly.
*She DOESN'T like car rides and is easily frightened by loud noises and thunder. (Shivers and or cries) I usually give her Tranquility Blend or Rescue Remedy and hour before grooming, car rides, thunder storms, etc... a few drops on some cheese and it calms her down a bit.
* I take her out to go potty on a flex lead, or a 6 ft. leash. She seems to prefer the leash walk, but she will go out on her own with a fenced in yard.

Laila is 10 years old, she will do well in a quiet home as she is aggressive with children. She also will bite if she is surprised from behind, or stepped on.
She is used to cats, but not accustomed to other dogs.
She's not a yappy dog and will only bark if someone comes to the door.
She does not respond to harsh training or correction. Positive reinforcement seems to work well.
She likes to chew and will be happy with a bully stick or a himalayan chew, one or the other will last several weeks to a month. She's not an aggressive chewer.
