Laila's Story

Laila is a wonderful dog, and happy all of the time. We have not seen her anything but happy. She play growls, but it’s friendly. Her confidence has gotten better and better over the last few months in foster care and she is now ready for adoption.
She is most focused on humans. Her perfect home would be with a very active person, with or without another active and playful dog. I am pretty sure she could be trained for sports, or she would do well in a home with another active dog, and/or older kids. When corrected for unwanted behavior, she normally responds immediately.
She is crate trained (“kennel”) and loves it. The door is always open and she eats her meals in her crate. Overall, she is well-behaved and seems to be over her puppy chewing. She knows sit, wait, here, come, off, stop, no, lay down (not too well), give (not too well). She walks okay on a leash but could use some additional training. She usually sleeps in her crate and is quiet all night. She rarely barks. She is a very “sticky” girl to her human.
Outside, she adores chasing a ball (doesn’t bring it back), running around, and digging ?.
Please go to our website www.clancysdream.org and fill out an Adoption Application if you are interested in adopting Laila!

Clancy's Dream Inc.'s Adoption Policy
When you adopt any companion animal, especially a rescue, it is a commitment that will affect your lifestyle for many years to come. Do you have the time, energy and resources necessary to devote to a new member of the family? With good care, most Border Collies will live 10 to 17 years. It is critical that you consider what is likely to be happening in your own life — before you adopt a pet. If you can provide a healthy, safe and loving home and would like to adopt a Clancy’s Dream rescued Border Collie the next step is to read our Adoption Process Quick Facts and then complete the Adoption Application. Please note that the application is not an agreement to adopt a pet. Improper placement can end tragically — usually for the dog. This comprehensive application helps us to place the right dog with the right family. An adoption interview will be scheduled either by phone or in person upon review of the application. The level of experience required, need for a fence, adequate exercise space, hours the animal may be left alone, young children and other pets in the home, etc will be discussed in the adoption interview and will be determined according to the need of each dog.
