Easily overwhelmed by lots of commotion, so a home with super young kiddos would likely not be the best fit for her. Calm, respectful, dog-savvy kids likely okay; recommending ages 12+ at this time. <br/><br/>-Can Live with Cats: Unknown history, will need slow, supervised intro.<br/><br/>-Can Live with Dogs: Yes, another well-matched dog would be great! Intros done @ WHS.<br/><br/>-Can do Apartment Living: Busy apartment settings with lots of neighbors, noises, and other unknowns would likely be very overwhelming for Laika-- she'd much prefer a home with a yard!<br/><br/>-Potty Trained: Yes<br/><br/>-Bite History: No<br/><br/>-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: Not required but would certainly be beneficial!<br/><br/>-Energy Level: High<br/><br/>-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Spay/microchip<br/>-Additional Information: Laika is a super smart, super trainable young pup who's boundless energy and spunky spirit make her the perfect match for someone looking for a lifelong copilot! This dog has tons of potential-- just needs a human that can help her reach it. She's a sensitive soul who's still learning about the big wide world, and while she catches on to new things quickly, she can be easily overwhelmed in novel situations. On the bright side, she frequently checks in with the human at the other end of the leash and is super food motivated which will make training a breeze! Laika already knows sit and shake, and is trying hard to remember to keep all 4 paws on the floor in times of excitement. She was pretty shy when she first arrived, but has made leaps and bounds (and lots of new friends!) and we know she'll only continue to blossom once settled in at home with her new family.<br/><br/>If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility.
