Ladybug's Story

Meet Ladybug — affectionately known as “Buggy” or just “Bug” — a beautiful 12-year-old Malamute mix with a gentle soul and a love for the great outdoors.

Ladybug came to Imagine FURever Ranch after her Dad faced a move that unfortunately meant he could no longer keep her. While change can be hard, Bug has settled into Ranch life beautifully and has quickly become a favorite among our volunteers.

This sweet senior girl is calm, easygoing and happiest when she can enjoy some fresh air. And true to her northern-breed roots, cool weather is definitely her happy place. When winter rolls around, don’t be surprised if Bug would rather stretch out in the snow than curl up inside!

Ladybug is housebroken, knows basic commands and rides nicely in the car. She’s affectionate without being demanding and seems perfectly content simply being near her people and enjoying the good life.

When it comes to other dogs, Ladybug can be selective. She may be able to live with another dog with slow, thoughtful introductions and the right match, but she would also be perfectly happy as your one-and-only.

One thing Bug feels pretty strongly about? She’s not a fan of leash walks. Because of that, a securely fenced yard is a must so she can safely enjoy time outside on her own terms.

At 12, Ladybug also needs a home that’s easy on those senior legs. She can manage a couple of steps, such as those leading onto a deck, but a home without flights of stairs would be best.

We don’t believe Ladybug has much, if any, experience living with children, and she can be wary of younger kids. A home with adults or older teenagers would be the best fit for her.

Ladybug isn't looking for a complicated life. Give this girl a fenced yard, a comfortable place to nap, some cool weather to enjoy and people who will love her exactly as she is, and Bug will be one happy senior lady.

If you’ve been looking for a mellow companion and have the kind of home where Ladybug can comfortably enjoy her golden years, this sweet girl just might be your Bug.

Adopt: https://bit.ly/AdoptIFR
Foster: https://bit.ly/FosterIFR
