Lady Bird needs a porch, a soft bed, and somebody to love her <br/><br/>Yall, this is Lady Bird and this mama has been through more than most dogs ever should.<br/><br/>Lady Bird is a sweet hound mix mama who recently gave birth to 12 puppies. At first, we thought she was just plain worn out. We thought she was tired from nursing babies, tired from being a mama, tired from giving everything she had.<br/><br/>But Lady Bird fooled us all.<br/><br/>Even while she was sick, she was still trying to be a good mama. Still caring for her puppies. Still trusting people. Still doing her best. <br/><br/>When she went to the vet, we found out she had a severe, life-threatening uterine infection and needed emergency surgery. What looked like a tired mama was actually a dog whose body was fighting hard behind the scenes.<br/><br/>And let us tell you Lady Bird is tougher than she looks.<br/><br/>It has been about a week since her vet visit and surgery, and this girl is doing great. She is bouncing back like nothing ever happened, tail up, spirit strong, and acting like she did not just scare all of us half to death. That is just Lady Bird. Tough as nails, sweet as honey. <br/><br/>Her puppies are getting their chance and will be going on transport, but Lady Bird still needs someone to step up for her.<br/><br/>After everything she has been through, she does not need to recover and wait in a shelter kennel. She needs a calm home, a soft place to lay her head, and somebody who can let her finally rest.<br/><br/>Lady Bird is also heartworm positive and will need follow-up care, but her medical care will be coordinated through the shelter/rescue.<br/><br/>This mama gave everything she had to her babies.<br/>Now her babies have a path forward.<br/>Now it is Lady Birds turn.<br/><br/>We are looking for a foster or adopter for this sweet girl. Even a temporary foster home would mean the world to her right now.<br/><br/>She does not need fancy.<br/>She needs safe.<br/>She needs quiet.<br/>She needs love.<br/>Maybe a porch, a soft blanket, and someone who will look at her and say, Youre home, girl. <br/><br/>Please share Lady Bird.
