Hi, I’m Lady Bird. I’m 9 years young, which means I have officially entered my “I know what I like and I will not be taking questions” era. <br/><br/>First things first: I am an exceptionally good houseguest. I am completely house trained and housebroken, leash trained, know sit and down, and I will even wait politely for my food until you tell me “OK.” Frankly, my manners are better than some people’s.<br/><br/>I’m also trained to be off leash in appropriate settings, I’m great at ignoring random people and dogs while I’m out with you, and I’m not one of those ladies who needs to be entertained every waking second. Give me a nice walk, some affection, a comfortable place to lounge, and access to my people, and I am quite content.<br/><br/>Speaking of my people... once you’re in my circle, you’re IN. I love attention, pets, cuddles, and being included in whatever everyone is doing.<br/><br/>Security services, however, are not included. I am possibly the world’s worst guard dog. If someone breaks in, there is a very real possibility I’ll assume they came specifically to visit me.<br/><br/>I do have one request for my retirement plan: I would like to be your one and only dog. I’ve decided that at this stage of my life, I do not need canine roommates. I would much rather have the humans, couch, snacks, and attention all to myself.<br/><br/>I also don’t need to be crated when I’m home. In fact, crates make me pretty anxious. If there is ever a reason I absolutely have to be crated, I need a heavy-duty crate that can keep me safe.<br/><br/>Basically, I’m past the puppy nonsense. I’m not trying to eat your baseboards, pee on your rug, or turn your living room into a WWE ring.<br/><br/>I’m just a sweet older lady looking for a home, some people to adore, and a comfortable place to spend my golden years.<br/><br/>And preferably a couch.
