Meet Lacy

***FOSTERED IN TALLAHASSEE***

Lacy, 2.5 yo merle, good with all, so calm and gentle.

It’s clear that Lacy was a backyard breeder dane and used for birthing puppies. This former mama is easily adjusting to being an inside dane. She is so very sweet and delicate as the word “lacy” may describe. She loves snuggles and wants to be as close as possible to her human.
Lacy came to us with a skin and eye infection we are treating and seems to be recovering well.

Lacy currently lives with single Foster mom with 3 cats, a lab/pit mix and old lady lab. This girl is so sweet and gentle. She loves to snuggle.

Foster mom thinks she may have some basic obedience for sit and down, but “off” just means switch to the other couch.

She is good in the crate and will go to the crate when there is lots of work/activity in the house, but don’t be fooled she wants to be with her human. Lacy hasn’t display chewing behaviors and we haven’t found her high value toy just yet. She prefers to snuggle on the bed and with her human.

Lacy hasn’t been exposed to children with foster Mom, but this girl is very calm so we feel she will be just fine.
Cats: She plays with foster mom’s indoor/outdoor cat who seems to understand chase play. So chase cats are good and she is very indifferent to the other two cats.

Lacey is gentle and kind and the definition of good. She is now spayed and vaccinated and chipped.

Important: Lacy has a skin allergy - called canine recurrent superficial pyoderma - which can make her skin very itchy and prone to bacterial infections. She takes a daily anti-allergy medication called Apoquel that is pricey but absolutely needed to keep her skin from flaking and breaking out and her fur from falling out. She may require it for the rest of her life. Whoever adopts her needs to understand that’s an added on monthly expense.

Lacy’s adoption fee is $350. To read over our adoption requirements and apply to adopt Lacy please go to www.nwflgdr.com/adopt.

ATTENTION: NWFLGDR DOES NOT TRANSPORT. If you are applying from out of area or out of state, understand that if your application gets approved, you will be expected to pick up the dane in the location that he/she is being fostered. In addition, if the adoption does not work out, it is your responsibility to bring the dane safely back to us.
