Lacie's Story

Meet Lacie

Lacie is a 2 year old Maltese weighing just under 9 pounds, with a serious case of the zoomies and an equally serious commitment to being near her favourite person.

She's a classic little Velcro dog. Lacie tends to pick her person, and once she does, she's all in. She'll happily follow you around, join you for a walk, hang out nearby and generally keep tabs on what you're doing.

She's also much more energetic than her fluffy little appearance might suggest. Lacie loves walks, tears around the backyard when the mood strikes and has a great time playing with other small dogs. She's house trained, walks well on leash and has been well behaved with cats.

Big dogs, however, are a firm no for Lacie. She's genuinely frightened of them and needs a home where she won't have to live with one. Her experience with children is unknown, so an adult home or one with older, respectful children would be the best fit.

Lacie does have separation anxiety and has chewed furniture when left alone and anxious. For that reason, we're looking for a home where someone is around most of the day. Another friendly small dog is strongly preferred too. She enjoys their company and clearly feels comfortable around dogs her own size.

Lacie's Ideal Home

- A quieter household
- Someone home most of the day
- Another friendly small dog is strongly preferred
- A securely fenced yard for those zoomies
- No large dogs
- Adults or older, respectful children
- A family prepared to work patiently on her separation anxiety

Lacie likes little dogs, walks, backyard zoomies and being wherever her favourite human happens to be. Basically, if you've been thinking your household could use an 8.5 pound supervisor who takes her job very seriously, Lacie is accepting applications.

What's included in your adoption fee?

At Myrtle Animal Rescue & Sanctuary, every dog adopted comes with:

* Spay/Neuter
* Core vaccines
* Rabies vaccine (age dependent)
* 4DX test for heartworm & tick borne diseases (age dependent)
* Flea, tick & heartworm prevention
* Parasite treatment
* Dental surgery if recommended by our veterinary partner
* A session with a positive reinforcement trainer
* Ongoing support from our team because adoption is just the beginning
* 30 days of Trupanion Pet Insurance

Adoption Fee: $850

Apply to adopt:
https://form.jotform.com/243494963032258

#MyrtleAnimalRescue #MARSRescue #StThomasOntario #Maltese #OntarioDogs #AvailableForAdoption

Meet-and-Greet: Approved applicants will be invited to meet the animal in person. If applicable, other household members and pets should also participate in this introduction.
