Hello- my name is Lacey. My partner, Cagney, and I were found as strays trying to survive on our own in Miami - we were both so very scared! Thankfully, the angels at Guardians of Florida Animal Rescue came for us and we are now safe at the rescue. I am estimated at just a year old and last weighed in at 24 lbs. Best guess at my breed is a rat terrier/chi mix. I walk well on leash and even know a few of my basic cues! I typically get along with other dogs after a proper and safe introduction and I have never reacted to the rescue cats when I see them. My $450 adoption fee includes vet check, up-to-date vaccinations, spay, heartworm test (negative), microchip and deworming. 1) Submit application 2) Application is reviewed for completeness and assigned to an adoption coordinator 3) Adoption coordinator verifies critical information on the application, contacts references and ensures that the requested animal is a good fit for the family 4) Adoption coordinator, in conjunction with rescue management, approves or denies application 5) Upon notification of approval, an adoption coordinator works with foster and adopter to set up an adoption appointment to bring your new family member home! We strive to work through adoption applications as soon as we can. We are 100% volunteer-based so it can take a day or two to complete the review. This also depends on the response time of your references. Should you change your mind or adopt a different animal after submission, please inform us so we do not spend unnecessary time on your application.
