Beneath his strong, sturdy build is a deeply people-oriented dog who wants nothing more than to be close to his humans. He’s never met a stranger and absolutely adores people, but if there are kids in the room? Adults might as well not exist. Krypto’s heart belongs to the tiny humans.<br/><br/>And when we say he loves kids, we mean really loves kids. So far, Krypto has done wonderfully with children ranging from about 5 to 15 years old, and he seems to instinctively understand when to be extra gentle with the littles. He happily soaks up all the snuggles, attention, and affection they’re willing to give, and he returns it tenfold. He could make an amazing family dog for a home with dog-savvy children.<br/><br/>At home, Krypto is happy to relax with his people and will gladly nap nearby or snuggle on the furniture if invited. He especially enjoys sleeping in bed with his human. That said, he is not a low-energy couch potato. Krypto thrives when he gets plenty of physical and mental exercise throughout the day. He loves long walks, running with his foster dad, extended games of fetch, food puzzles, and burning off steam with zoomies in a fenced yard. While he can absolutely settle in for cuddle time, he truly shines in an active household. A fenced yard is strongly preferred, as he benefits from having space to run and play.<br/><br/>Krypto knows “sit,” enjoys car rides, and loves playing with his humans. He is smart, eager to learn, and currently working on skills like recall and “go to bed.” When he sees or hears other dogs while on leash, he can become excitable and vocal, pulling and barking out of enthusiasm. Structured introductions, continued training, and patient handling will help him keep making the steady progress he’s already showing. He can startle at loud or sudden noises but is bravely working through those fears and gaining confidence with time and positive reinforcement. Because of this, we don't recommend an apartment - but we believe a duplex would be acceptable.<br/><br/>If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who can keep up on adventures, crash hard for cuddle time, and absolutely worship your kids, Krypto might just be your perfect match. He’s got a big body, an even bigger personality, and the biggest heart of all.
