Krispy's Story

Meet Krispy!

***Krispy did recently have surgery to repair a torn ACL. He came out of surgery fine and is on tract to recover. He will need a home that is aware and prepared to take on a dog that is healing from an ACL repair. It is not a major recovery, but adopters will need to keep an eye on it and ensure he is not doing any straining activities.****

Krispy is a 9 year old Black Labrador Mix! He has been neutered and is current on all vaccines!

Krispy and his fur companion, Sophie, came to HSHP to no fault of their own. Their owner's landlord told him he had to rehome the dogs. They spent some time with friends and family, but ultimately no one could keep both dog's long term.

Krispy deserves a home that is low key and prepared to take in a senior dog. Other than the ACL repair, Krispy is healthy and happy. He still has a lot of get up and go for a dog of his age and condition. He loves to play with stuffed toys and chew on some tasty bones.

Krispy does get along with other dogs and cats! We would strongly recommend if not require any other dogs in the home to come out and meet Krispy first. Krispy cannot play rough at all and would do better with another older dog who will respect his space and not attempt to engage him in rough play.
Krispy also gets along great with children, but we would like him to go to a home with older children who can be aware of his injury and not tempt him into rough housing.

Krispy is a good ole boy looking for his forever retirement home! If that home is you, please reach out or come out to meet him!
