Kringle's Story

🐾 Meet Kringle — a gentle, feral-hearted boy looking for a very special home 🐾

Kringle is not a typical dog — and that’s something his future family must truly understand. He came from an abandoned home where many small dogs were left to survive in terrible conditions. Because of that, Kringle never learned how to trust humans or live like a traditional pet. He isn’t aggressive or mean — he’s simply deeply shy, anxious, and unsure of people. Kringle is what we lovingly call a “feral dog.” That means he may never seek affection, cuddles, or physical touch. He may avoid being petted. Even routine things like being crated for vet visits are extremely stressful for him. He needs an adopter who is patient, calm, and realistic — someone who will not try to force him to be something he’s not. But here’s where Kringle shines:
🐶 He loves other dogs. They are his safety, his comfort, and his guide. Because of this, having 1–2 other dogs in the home is a requirement to adopt Kringle. He gains confidence by watching and following other dogs, and he does best in a home where he is never the only dog.
🏡 Kringle’s ideal home: • Must have at least one other dog (no exceptions) • Quiet, low-traffic environment • Patient, experienced dog owners • Securely fenced yard • Understanding that he may never be a cuddly or hands-on dog • A home that allows him to exist peacefully, without pressure Kringle enjoys quietly being near his dog friends, observing the world from a safe distance, and having predictable routines. He’s not looking for constant interaction — he’s looking for safety.
✨ About Kringle: • 5–6 years old | 14 lbs • Neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative • Up to date on vaccines and preventions • Has a grade 3 heart murmur • Fostered in Knoxville, TN • Adoption fee: $50 Kringle doesn’t need someone to “fix” him. He needs someone who will accept him exactly as he is. If you have a calm home, kind expectations, and a heart big enough to offer peace instead of pressure, Kringle may be the quiet companion you didn’t know you needed. 💛 ✨ Apply to adopt: knoxvintagepetproject.com/adopt
