Kovu's Story

Kovu was pulled from Cleveland Animal Care & Control. He kept coming in as a stray and this time no one claimed him as their own. He is currently with an amazing Husky savvy foster who is giving him the love he needs, but he would absolutely love to find that perfect place to call his own! Kovu is still new to the rescue, so we are learning more about him each day! <br/><br/>He does great with other pups and is seeming to be a gentle giant! He is underweight so his foster is currently working on getting him some yummy food to be at a good weight! His target weight is 65 lbs.<br/><br/>He does have issues with entropion, so we are working on getting a consultation with an ophthalmologist here soon! He is heartworm negative, but is lyme positive. We are doing a round of Doxycycline for that.<br/><br/><br/><br/>Could you be this cutie pie's forever home?

Kane's Mission - Dog Rescue's Adoption Policy
The potential adopter would fill out an application. We would contact them, and have an initial phone interview. The next steps are to set up the home inspection, and perform reference checks, as well as reach out to their veterinarian to make sure that their current or previous animals were all kept up on vaccinations, monthly flea/heartworm meds, and that they were well cared for, medically. After the home inspection, we would set up a meet and greet with them. Sometimes more than one meeting is necessary, especially if they have other animals. Once approved, they would fill out and sign the adoption contract, and pay the adoption fee, and we would then deliver the animal to them.
