KOKO's Story

MEET KOKO....formerly known at home as Koawa, his nickname is easier to pronounce! As much as he was/is loved by his previous pet mama, this 2 yr old, -9 lbs, tan/white Shih Tzu, life changes forced her to give him up.

At only 2 yrs old, Koko was a little confused and unsure of his new circumstances or why he was leaving ...but within a couple of days, he was giving us kisses, eating better and beginning to understand. That being said, Koko is not really comfortable with active/loud dogs/people around him, as he has been an only dog up to now. His mom reports that he is very quiet and will only bark or growl to protect you. He can sometimes hide to escape whatever is going on. We saw him kissing another dog this morning, so we think he is beginning to like having friends. He is getting better on the leash...but he is still a bit worried about unknown things around him. He has only been here a few days, but we actually heard him bark for the first time this morning! It’s really too soon to talk about his personality — but we know that he is a sweetheart and just wants to love and be loved! Mom reports he’s good with kids, cats, dogs, good in the car, LOVES his toys and is a wonderful companion once he knows you!

We believe the ideal home for Koko would be one where he will get a lot of love and attention...and patience while he is getting to know you. Kids who are over 8+ yrs would be welcomed as long as the kids are gentle and understand dogs are not toys! He is very affectionate once he trusts you. Koko is a character and we are loving watching him blossom. Does he sound like a pup who could make your home complete?
